This species of gecko originates from the Bawangling nature reserve on the Island of Hainan, an off-shore province of China. They are very rare in the hobby but are relatively easy to care for. They stay smaller than a leopard gecko and require higher humidity and lower temperatures. They can be a little shy during the day but are easy to handle and are a stunning species all round.
