When installing new heating it is important to check that the fittings are rated to an appropriate wattage to cope with the bulb. Our wide selection of bulb fittings are range from 25-250w in rating meaning you can make sure you have the correct fitting for the bulb you intend to use. When using ceramic bulbs you must make sure that you use a ceramic fitting as ceramic bulbs will melt plastic fittings even if rated to an appropriate wattage. Considering the heat that some incandescent bulbs produce, not to mention the incredibly high surface temperatures of ceramic bulbs we strongly recommend the use of an appropriate bulb guard or cage to protect both yourself and your animal from coming into accidental contact with the heat source. All our guards are powder coated and heat resistant.
