Philodendron melanochrysum is a close relative of Heartleaf Vine a hardy plant species perfect for damp to very humid vivaria. Native to Columbia this climbing plant is a perfect option for vivariums with a huge array of species; including (but not limited to) Dart Frogs, Tree Frogs, Crested Geckos, Day Geckos, etc. Due to its hardiness this makes an excellent vivarium plant as it is able to tolerate a wide variety of temperatures, humidity and light levels. Philodendron melanochrysum produces wonderful deep green velvety leaves as it grows and is as popular with plant collectors as it is with reptile and amphibian keepers. This is a simple to care for but quite difficult to find species, not one we come across very often.
