The Central American Banded Gecko (Coleonyx mitratus) is a moderately small gecko growing up to a maximum of 20cm. They are native to Central America from Guatemala to Costa Rica where they spend most of the day hiding down burrows, venturing out at dusk to hunt. They are hardy and have a varied span of environments ranging from semi-arid deserts to areas of humid forests.

These charming little geckos make a great alternative pet to the popular Leopard Gecko. With regular handling they become very tame.
