Basket zebra vine (Aeschynanthus marmoratus) is an epiphytic trailing vine native to the rainforests of Thailand and Malaysia. It has attractive glossy leaves with purple striped undersides. This plant is easy to grow in a terrarium but doesn't like to be in permanently wet soil, it will thrive if the soil is allowed to partially dry between watering. It is suitable for a wide variety of enclosures so long as its provided with moderate temperatures (above 13c) and will benefit from higher humidity generated through misting within an enclosure. Being a trailing epiphyte it can also be planted into backgrounds or into secure elevated planters.
