Madagascan Cat Eye Snakes are a mildly venomous snake species native to the island of Madagascar. They look very similar to Mangrove and other Cat Eye Snakes of the genus Boiga but are hardier and seem more placid in general. They rarely exceed 1m in total length and in nature feed primarily on chameleons and small rodents. They are nocturnal hunters found in rainforest and montane areas. They are a venomous species but they are not deemed harmful and no license is required to own them. However not much is known about their toxicity so a level of caution is required.
