ProRep Tortoise Life Bio is a new version of our classic Tortoise Life substrate, comprising 66% loam topsoil with 34% added coir for water retention, and no mineral grit.

Although impaction is commonly regarded as a husbandry issue, this grit-free product has been designed for those keepers concerned about potential impaction of limestone grit. Additionally, coir will assist in the essential need for moisture retention, while also enabling the enrichment opportunity for easier burrowing. With the bio-active trend booming, this substrate can also be considered a good planting material too.

Mixing ProRep Tortoise Seeds into Tortoise Life Bio substrate will create natural foraging opportunities, and by adding a clean-up crew of Granulated Isopods ideally suited to these Mediterranean conditions, it will bring tortoise keeping into the bioactive era.
