Flies and Other
Our livefood is delivered fresh in store twice per week and during busy
periods some online orders are sent direct from the livefood farm to ensure
that when each tub of crickets, locusts, mealworms and morio worms reach you
they are as fresh and nutritious as possible. We provide a diverse range of
live food and along with the usual crickets, locusts, mealworms, morio worms
and wax worms, we also provide some of the more unusual feeder insects
including, dubia cockroaches, calci worms, bean weevils, fruit flies,
springtails, tropical woodlice and Silkworms.
We have
also provided a nutritional breakdown for each of the popular live food
selections along with the unbalanced calcium-phosphorous ratio.
Fruit
flies (Drosophila sp.) are a fantastic food source for small
reptiles and amphibians such as dart frogs and baby chameleons. They are
supplied as a culture that will continue to produce flies for approximately 3
weeks. Our fruit fly cultures are composed of flightless flies. Drosophila
hydei are slightly larger than Drosophila melanogaster.
