The Gargoyle gecko originates from the South Pacific island of New Caledonia. A close relative to the ever popular crested gecko its care is almost identical. One major consideration is that young and juveniles can show some cannibalistic tendencies so must be reared individually. The term Gargoyle gecko comes from the small bony projections on the head which look a little like horns and are most pronounced on adults.
