If you are looking for a starter kit for medium to medium-large sized arboreal lizards based around a glass enclosure, this kit can be customised to perfectly match your needs. Our in store team have over 60 years of experience in keeping and breeding reptiles, we breed a huge number of different species in store (50+ species each year and over 150 species since the store was founded) so our kits are based on our extensive experience. This Kit is suitable for many medium sized arboreal lizard species such as cone headed iguana’s, tree skinks, keel bellied lizards etc or with the largest size enclosure can also be suitable for fiji iguana’s or smaller tree monitor species.

The benefits of a glass enclosure over a mesh or wooded enclosure are its ability to retain humidity when compared to mesh and to do so without damage to the enclosure as may be seen with melamine enclosures. Glass enclosures are also excellent if you wish to go bioactive with your enclosure as they can be planted up with ease.

This has been put together by our in store team, so there is no better kit on the market. Not every animal is the same, nor is every home where the animal will be kept the same. Standard Kit Contents: (full set up instructions with diagrams are always provided)

Housing – The standard Glass Terrarium included is the Habistat 60cm x 45cm x 90cm glass terrarium. However, there are a variety of brands and sizes for you to choose from in the upgrades.

Lighting - Arcadia Pro T5 24w T5HO unit which can be equipped with a 6 or 12% UVB bulb dependent upon the species you are keeping. Longer light Units for the larger enclosures are also available in the drop down options.

Heating - Arcadia 14cm ceramic clamp lamp fixture + Arcadia solar flood basking bulb + Habistat 600w Day & Night Digital Dimming Thermostat

Options and Upgrades:

1.      Glass enclosure Size / Brand, choose your preferred enclosure, the individual glass enclosures to select from can be seen in order as the additional product images, if you require a smaller enclosure than the ones listed please see our Small/Medium customisable lizard kit instead.

2.       Cabinet – Exo Terra Cabinets are available to fit enclosures with a base dimension of 60cm x 45cm or 90 x 45cm, it will fit both exo terra and habistat brand enclosures.

3.      UVB Lighting kit – You can have the standard 24w Pro T5 lighting kit, upgrade to larger units where required, or upgrade to the cutting edge lumenIZE range which will do automatic dawn and dusk cycles (we highly recommend these kits).

4.      Thermostat – The kit as standard already comes with a day and night programmable digital dimming thermostat but if you want greater control over your heating to be able to provide varying temperatures throughout the day then we also offer all 3 of the Microclimate Evo Connected range, these are the most advanced thermostats on the market.

5.      Décor Selection – We provide a selection of décor packs tailored towards different habitat types, some of these can be used in conjunction with the bioactive kits or plant bundles, the contents of the kits can be seen here,  they work out much cheaper than purchasing individual decorations.

6.      Live Plant / Bioactive Bundles – We would always recommend where possible as they will help visual barriers / cover and increase the humidity in the enclosure for tropical species, even those from arid environments can have plants such as succulents, aloe’s and sansevieria’s added. The bioactive kits will help you take this one step further and create a whole living ecosystem.

7.      Add LED lighting – Led lighting will increase the overall brightness within the enclosure but it will also work wonders for plant growth so we would recommend these when using live plants. Options available for the standard Arcadia Jungle Dawn Bar or the LuminIZEversions of the Jungle Dawn LED Bar to give you that natural dawn and dusk cycle.

8.      Automatic Misting System – take the trouble out of regular mistings by using an automated system, the user friendly Rainmaker system from Habistat or the market leading option from MistKing are both available as additional upgrades.

9.     Night time heating – In colder houses some species will benefit from night time heating, the night time heating kit comprises an Arcadia 14cm ceramic clamp lamp fixture + either 80w DHP or 150 ceramic heat bulb dependent upon your requirement and includes an upgrade to the Microclimate Evo 3 thermostat to control both day and night time heating (don't select the Evo 3 upgrade separately as it is already included here)
