Pygmy Mulga Monitors or Stripe Tailed Goannas are one of the smallest monitor lizard species in the world. These are rare in captivity and nowhere near as often encountered as their larger cousin the Spiny tailed monitor (Ackie). Native to Australia they are highly arboreal by nature and their name refers to the fact that they are often found living in dry wooded areas and in particular living in Mulga trees, Eucalyptus and a type of Desert Oak. In the wild they are active by day and can be found basking at the top of trees in the hottest parts of the day, they primarily prey on insects and smaller reptiles in the wild but in captivity have a typical varied diet of insects and rodents. 

This is a proven breeding trio of 3 year old adults that have successfully bred for us numerous times and with correct care will continue to do so. They are being sold as we are making space for other projects after this season.
