Aphonopelma seemanni, the Costa Rican zebra tarantula, also known as the striped-knee tarantula, is a species of tarantula inhabiting most of western Costa Rica and other parts of Central America. One of those spiders that eons ago was one of the most popular pets spiders in the hobby and is widespread throughout Central America. Due to being hard to breed and rarely imported they are very hard to obtain.
