Xenagama species are found in Northern Africa and Somalia. They are closely related to Uromastyx / dab lizards, and are also prolific burrowers. When threatened they will retreat into a burrow and use their tail to block the entrance. They are not often seen as captive bred individuals but when they are they make hardy pets and although initially difficult to pick up the are very tame once in your hand.
