Mossy Geckos are another of the medium sized New Caledonian gecko species. They are a close relative of Crested Geckos and Gargoyle geckos. There are two populations in the wild, one on Grande Terre (the main island of New Caledonia) and a separate population from Pine Island (a smaller satellite island). Relatively easy to care for as pets they are more or less identical in care to Crested Geckos. They are much more difficult to breed though as the eggs have a secondary calcium layer that can cause hatchlings to be unable to escape the egg.
They are tame and in perfect health (no under-bite that can be seen in some inferior quality individuals).
