A medium sized, attractive rat snake, native to India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. They are beautiful to look at but can be shy and secretive. A terrestrial snake, Trinket Snakes live in termite mounds, but also prefer low heights, old trees, wood piles, around old houses, dense vegetation, etc. They are relatively easy to keep, requiring a hot spot of around 28C and relatively high humidity at around 50 to 80% but are a hardy species and can tolerate a range of levels making them well suited for a novice or experienced keeper. They exhibit quite drastic sexual dimorphism in terms of size, females reach 4 to 5 foot whereas a male is a lot more slender and grow to around 3 foot.
