Leopard geckos are probably one of the best known and most widely kept reptiles in captivity. Originating from Pakistan/Afghanistan these terrestrial geckos are well adapted to living in rocky semi-arid foothills. Mostly active at night many leopard geckos become tame enough to become active by daytime as well in captivity. Hardy and with relatively straight forward care requirements these geckos are an ideal starter species.
