Red Eyed Crocodile Skinks are an interesting small skink species with an incredibly striking appearance. In nature they are found in tropical rainforests of New Guinea where they live on the forest floor feeding on small insects and worms. Unlike most other skinks these animals can make a sound when stressed similar to geckos. They require relatively cool temperatures and high humidity. They do very well in a live planted enclosure with UV light with regular spraying. These animals are often available wild caught but our animals are captive bred. These animals are juveniles, the red ring round the eyes develop as the animals age.
