Some of the most popular vivarium and terrarium plants are the creepers and climbers, when planted in the substrate at the base of an enclosure they will often rapidly sprawl across the base of the enclosure, when planted at the base of backgrounds and bark/branches they can often be trained to grow up structures within the enclosure giving a far more natural look. Some species will also trail down backgrounds and off of branches if planted higher in the enclosure. Most of these creeping and climbing plants are considered quite hardy and will normally grow rapidly upwards towards the light.
Popular favourites include Ficus pumilia, Muehlenbeckia complexa, Scindapsis pictus, Eppipremnum aureum and Philodendron scandens, tradescantia spp, Callisia repens.
